I get the feeling I'm missing something simple here, but haven't been able to figure it out. This is a problem because Anki outputs with the relative image format.įor example, if I make the following flashcard test.txt within the folder Dropbox/Flashcards Deluxe/ :ĪBSOLUTE LINK PICTURE RELATIVE LINK PICTUREĪnd the image "OandA_small.png" is within the folder Dropbox/Flashcards Deluxe/test Media, Flashcards will properly display the absolute link but won't display the relative link. I'm able to get the absolute img tag ( doesn't work. However, I'm having some trouble getting images to show up correctly in Flashcards Deluxe using the method described above. It would be great to use Anki to make flashcards, particularly because it allows you to paste images directly into the flashcards. In any event, if you are making tons of card like myself this would save time. Allow dia folder as an alternative folder name to "DeckName Media." Allow image tag recognition on original import format i.e. becomes as simple as export and drag and drop.ġ. I know it's not official so probably won't happen but if following two changes are made on the Flashcards Deluxe, we can save couple steps from above i.e. *Step 2 can be bypassed but if that's the case, you have to manually open the text file and add the line on top otherwise, image files will not be recognized by Flashcards Deluxe due to the fact without the line it consider the file as older import format. Now simply download the card from Flash Deluxe on your ipad/iphone. on Anki, media directory is named as dia so take out. Change the name of the media directory to Flashcards Deluxe format i.e. Copy this file text file along with media directory into Dropbox Flashcards Deluxe Folder.Ħ. Select export with option of text file tab delimited.ĥ. ![]() Even multiple images on one side is fine.Ĥ. Now simply keep adding cards as if you were to create regular deck. ![]() First card must be Text 1 (front), Text 2 (back).ģ. You can simply drag and drop images or even straight from clip board images onto the cards.Ģ. Available for free on multiple platforms including PC and Mac. Solution: Now, it is not single step path and definitely not officially approved method but Anki desktop application works with Flashcards Deluxe!ġ. But many of these sites restrict media use unless you sign up and pay monthly dues. Alternatively, some may say what about using Quizlet or other major flashcard website? The main issue with this approach for me was I use tons of images on my cards. I have been searching for various ways to achieve this, but only officially supported approach I came across was relatively expensive app with desktop counter part only available on Mac. It just simply easier to use actual full sized keyboard. Alternatively, you can export your fixed deck with scheduling and media included from the 2nd profile, switch to the main profile, remove the deck and import the exported version from the 2nd profile. Background: I am sure there are several of you out there like to create cards on desktop and review on the ipad/iphone. Once the synchronization has completed, open AnkiDroid in the device that you are trying to copy the existing decks into, and tap the Sync button in the app bar at the top of the main deck list. If you have a lot of media, this may take some time. After that you can safely copy the dia folder from the 2nd profile to the main Anki profile and overwrite any duplicates. Anki will upload all your cards, images and audio to AnkiWeb. If unused media was also reported, remove it. ![]() If it reports a few missing and unused files, find them in the dia folder and rename them using the missing filename with the same prefix. While copying the dia folder from the 2nd profile, if your main Anki profile contains other decks, it’s better to skip overwriting duplicates to prevent accidentally overwriting different images with the same filename and instead do the following to fix images that aren’t missing but were corrupted and don’t display correctly (maybe because of some data loss due to hard disk errors), like in your screenshot where only the top half of it is visible.Īt first, go to the main Anki profile, export your updated deck with scheduling but without media, go to the 2nd profile, remove the original deck and import your deck with scheduling, then run Tools > Check Media. It should/might fix the cards with the broken image icon (not found). If Tools > Check media in your main Anki profile reports a lot of missing files, you can try to copy the dia folder from the 2nd Anki profile into your main Anki profile (by skipping duplicates/without overwriting any duplicates). No, I meant to temporarily create the 2nd profile in Anki and import the original v12 deck (and/with media), run Tools > Check Media and review a few cards with images, to make sure that the deck contains all the images and they display correctly.
